First Baptist Church was organized in 1812. It separated from The First
Baptist Church (white)
that year because, as one brother put it "We had
to wait until the whites finished praying before we could pray".
The Church is on the historical register.
It is located on theCapital
Square
101 South Wilmington Street. RALEIGH,NORTH CAROLINA
It has a predominantly black
congregation and have many members of DIFFERENT
RACES on
the roll.
The door of the church is open to ALL PEOPLE OF ALL RACES
