and flowering plants surround a life-size bronze statue of the national civil rights leader. It is bordered by
the King Memorial Wall of 2,400 named bricks recognizing state and national supporters of the facility
Off-street bus parking is available. Admission is free. Hours: Open daily for self-conducted visits. It is well lighted
for 24 hours a day, all year round visits. It is on the beat of one of the finest
Police and sheriff Departments in the South.
The Gardens,
constructed by the King Committee in 1989, represents America's only public park dedicated solely to the memory of
Dr. King and the civil rights movement.
The park features the world's only life-sized bronze statue
which depicts
King in his clerical attire. The facility also features
a 12-ton granite water monument honoring 26 civil rights and education heroes.
