" T o me the sad fact is that medicine has lost its way," says  Dr. Mark McClure  of Landmark Urology and Complementary Medicine. "I am not without hope- I am never without  hope -but there is much to be done." he adds........
............"Our bodies needs to be fed with nourishing food, exercised, kept free from smoke and alcohol, and our minds need to entertain correct thoughts. ...But in truth, when any person faces a debilitating illness, there chance of of overcoming the illness is dramatically better if they have the reserves that comes only from practicing good health habits....................".

DOCTOR McCLURE

As you can see in writing about my experiences in life, I feel I would just have to write about a most unusual happening, about a most unusual doctor. Doctor Mark W. McClure, a Christian, is also an urology,a very fine one I might add. My meeting him was my father-in-law's medical problem. You could tell, there was something unusual about Dr. McClure, and if you ever have the opportunity to meet him, do so quickly, it will be to your advantage. To repeat an earlier note, I was honored to be chosen a member of the Board of Deacons (now emeritus) in 1964, First Baptist Church (est. 1812), City of Raleigh, North Carolina, located on the Capital Square. I was baptized in 1943, and can say with a Blessed Assurance that "Jesus, is mine". Dr. McClure was so kind, so soft spoken, so relaxing in his manner, that it couldn't, but put any person, sick or otherwise, at ease. After the operations on my beloved father-in-law, he came to the waiting room, told family members that was present, how the operation went, and then asked us if we wanted to pray with him. I was dumbfounded. Let me say here, I volunteer at Carteret General Hospital, once a week, and have been doing so since my retirement (April-1961), my post is located at the critical care unit. You know there is a major difference when a person go to the hospital for a broken limb, or things of that nature, but when admitted to the critical care unit, where life or death is of primary concern, that is a different matter. I have seen plenty of doctors, met many doctors, who meet with families after surgery, but never one like this one, who put, such a request, as this one to waiting family members. Let me add, my mother-in-law have the pausley, and have had it for years, and to me, she shakes real bad and have been shaking for years. Dr McClure held her hand, and he held my hand, I in turn held my wife's hand, and she completed the circle by grasping her mother's hand. thus completing, in the waiting room, the circle. As he prayed, among other things, thinking the Lord for seeing him through the operation, a warm feeling came over me. My mother-in law stopped shaking, durning the prayer, which haven't happen in years, and everything was alright. Later my wife told me another lady, who was waiting in the hospital's waiting room, said she cried, and got the doctor's name from my wife. She said the prayer did so much for her. There is a number of ways a person can show others the way of Christ, without hitting them over the head with the Bible, or treating, pushing, bribing, demanding, or doing many other things, that some of us are guilty of doing. I hope that lady had her strength and faith renewed, or if she didn't know Christ, get to know him, for herself. He is the best friend she can ever have, bar none. I will never forget Dr. McClure.
