Saint Stephens AMEZ Church is on the Historical Registry. It was established in Morehead City in 1906. The present pastor The Reverend Robert L. Albritton was preceded by the Reverend N. L. Daniels, who has retired, and is now serving in a limited way, as the associate pastor of Purvis Chapel AMEZ Church, Purvis is the first church in the thrid oldest town in North Carolina, Beaufort.
