The Washington High School Alumi

it seem to me (have and to this date) are doing a great job,and it is my sincer wish that

the group will forever keep the meeting, greeting, renewing old and new fellowships

alive. You know that was one of Coach Peter Hines Williams' major dream.

AND now I understand just what and how he felt about keeping the HISTORY ALIVE.

I don't know who wrote the JOURNAL information or where they or who they interviewed (which was not named for the source).

Ora and I

(PLEASE NOTE MY WIFE NAME IS ORA,HARVEY'S WIFE NAME IS OLA)

was invited by Harvey and Ola Broadie to be his guest at a Red Skin Professional football game.

It would be my first and I had no excuse not to go to DC.Harvey was paying for the tickets, we would stay with them, no excuse.

In Raleigh, N.c. television station WRAL was the main station for Sunday Pro Games

and the only one that brought one.

I got to say this, imagine my suprise to see

that there was BLACK cheerleaders with both Pro teams.

The camara men never showed any during the games on any side.

That we could see from yhe TV (WRAL) in Ralegh,North Carolina. Those were the days.

While at Harvey and Ola in THE FALL OF 1971 we were wondering

what our classmates from the Greatest Class (1950) ever,

we agreed we ought to get together.Along about early spring (1972)

we were in a meeting over Mrs Helen Gale Cameron's resident

The group agreed we would make it work, also rotate the planning meetings.

(Helen would feed the group at her expense) so we wanted to spread that expense among ourselves, which was the right thing to do.

The Great Class of'50 started the gathering of WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL ATTENDEES come one come all.

We took in consideration the cost. All our folk didn't work for the Federal Goverment, taught school, or been blessed by GOD to have a good paying job.

THE COST WAS FIVE DOLLARS A FAMILY.If you had 1 kid or 10 kids. For example, our Class mate William "BLACK CAT " ANDREWS was very close close to 10.

in High School "Cat", "Casey" (Clarence Sanders football team mate). the three of us hung out together all through High School

Let me tell you how well we knew each other. I hadn't seen Cat since we graduated in 1950 (22 years),he having moved to Detroit Mi to work in a auto factory.

Heleft the family at home. After almost crying, hugging, with Ora obsering.

Cat asked me if he could have a small taste of WINE. before I COULD TELL HIM i WAS SORRY,

Cat walked past me to the frig opened the door pulled the crisper opened,

pushed Ora's lettuce aside, and pulled out my preserved wine that I had for a special event,

for a special occassopn. BOY!!!, EVEN AFTER 22YEARS WE STILL KNEW EACH OTHER.

WHO WOULD BELIEVE THIS

IN OUR LIFETIME

PRAY FORPEACE, NOW
